The big day is almost here! It won't be long before you'll be able to wrap your arms around your sweet little baby. But don't panic if by the end of this week you're still waiting -- only 5 percent of babies are born on their expected due date.

Mom, can you believe how quickly the time flew by? And these last few days are probably going to feel longer than the last nine months. Most doctors and midwives will wait another two weeks before considering a pregnancy overdue and inducing labor. (A pregnancy is considered post-date when it goes past 42 weeks.) In the meantime, you and your partner might try relieving the tension with a little hanky-panky -- sex has been known to speed labor.
Dad, keep yourself busy. If you haven't already done so, install the baby's car seat. You may not have time later, and many hospitals won't discharge a baby without one. Also, take the opportunity to go over your role during delivery.
